Rebels Season Comes to a Slow End

Unfortunately today saw the end of the road for the Rebels 2018-19 season. Rebels lost to the Pioneers 44-16.

With nice weather out, the Rebels were feeling very optimistic coming into their playoff game. Although they were utterly defeated by the Lions the previous week (albeit with lots of setbacks and fights and racism against us), the Rebels had greatly improved in their last 3 games. However, optimism was not enough.

Rebels started the game strong, being in the lead for several minutes of the game. However, the offense was unable to sustain its momentum, and the defense lost all gas, allowing the Pioneers to do what they want on the field. Rebels fought hard this game, and the score does not actually depict the full picture. All-in-all, it was a close game, but the Rebels were unable to capitalize on many opportunities given to them.

You can find all game info here.

This season for the Rebels has been quite the doozy. It was a rebuilding season with over 90% of the players being first-time players to the game of football. Many people left the team, gave up on it, defected, and more. However, the team stuck together and managed to fight their way into the playoffs.

Next year: CHAMPIONS!
