The Rebels organization was delighted to volunteer with Bears for Hope once again!
Joey Benamou, David Schenkler, and Evyatar Cohen went to Tel-HaShomer Hospital near Tel Aviv to deliver teddy bears to children undergoing heart surgery.
Bears for Hope is an amazing non-profit organization that provides hope and comfort for children with heart disease and other chronic illnesses by giving them a special teddy bear to accompany them during their medical journey.
Started by one of our very own, Mike Viselli and his wife Julie created the organization after their daughter Anavah had gone through heart surgeries of her own. Witnessing first hand how difficult these procedures can be for the children going through the surgeries and for the families, they started delivering bears to these children The bears have little zippers in the middle that open to a heart, representing that the bears have also gone through heart surgery.
Joey, Evyatar, and David delivered the bears to all the children who had not received any yet. You could see the kids' smiles after receiving a bear.
The Judean Rebels are grateful to have volunteered with Bears for Hope, and look forward to our next opportunity!
